Ingredients:

For the cake:

    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 ½ cups sugar
    • 1 cup plain yoghurt
    • ½ cup milk
    • ½ cup vegetable oil
    • 4 tablespoons condensed milk
    • 2 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
    • 1 teaspoon rose water
    • A pinch of saffron strands (optional)

 

For the Panchamrit:

    • 1 cup milk
    • ½ cup honey
    • ½ cup powdered sugar
    • 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter)
    • 1 tablespoon finely chopped nuts (almonds, cashews, pistachios)
    • 1 tablespoon raisins
    • 1 tablespoon grated coconut (optional)
    • 1 tablespoon cardamom powder

For garnish:

    • Sliced almonds
    • Pistachio slivers
    • Edible rose petals


How to make Panchamrit Cake

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C)

Grease a round cake pan with some oil or butter. Set it aside.

Take a bowl. Put 2 tbsp ghee

Add 1 tsp baking powder

Add 1/2 tsp baking soda

Now add sugar

Add condensed milk


Add 1/2 cup saffron (kesar) milk 

Add  1 tsp rosewater


Take all-purpose flour

Sieve it

Mix it well 


Mix them together with a whisker until well combined.

Stir until just combined. Do not overmix the batter; a few lumps are fine.

See the consistency

Pour the batter into the greased cake pan and spread it evenly.

Bake it for 30-35mins at 175 degrees C

Baking in process

Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.


Once the cake has cooled, you can garnish it with sliced almonds, pistachio slivers, and edible rose petals for an elegant touch.
