Black Forest cake



The cream , cherries and chocolate cake mingle together to create a divine desert. I am talking about the eggless Black Forest cake. This cake just melted in the mouth and i made it specially for my younger son's birthday. He liked chocolate cake and cherries so I made this one for him. Among all the cakes, this one is a much favorite cake. It looks incredibly gorgeous. 

INGREDIENTS 

  • All purpose flour - 175 g
  • Cocoa powder- 25 g
  • Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Butter - 100 g
  • Icing sugar - 2 teaspoon
  • Condensed milk - 2 cups
  • Tinned cherries - 1 tin
  • Hot coffee - 1/4 cup
  • Milk - 1/2 cup
  • Vanilla essence - 1 teaspoon
  • Cherry syrup/ sugar syrup - 1/2 cup
  • Red food color - 5-6 drops

PROCEDURE:

Preheat oven at 175 degrees for 10 minutes. Prepare a cake tin and line up with butter paper.
Combine the instant coffee powder, red food color, vanilla essence and water (1/4 cup) in a small cup and mix well..

Sieve all purpose flour, baking powder and baking soda.

Sieve cocoa powder.

Add melted butter.

Add condensed milk.

Add hot coffee mixture.

Add milk.

Now mix well using a whisk.

Fold the mixture gently using a spatula.

Pour the batter into cake tin. Tap it slightly.

Bake it in a preheated oven at 175 degree for 35 minutes. Keep aide to cool completely.

Beat two cup whipped cream on high speed until double in volume.

Add vanilla essence and icing sugar and beat until combined and reaches soft peaks.

Cut into halves.

(I have baked two cakes so i have 4 layers of cake)

Open the cherry tin and take out cherry syrup in a bowl.

Soak all layers of cake with cherry syrup 

Take out cherries and remove the seeds. Keep aside.

Cover whole cake with whipped cream.

Use spatula and bench scraper to frost the cake with a perfect finish. Apply more coats of cream for a neat finish.

Take whipped cream in a piping bag with a star nozzle and pipe out rounds along the edges.

Place the cherries in the center. Decorate the corners of the cake.

Refrigerate the cake.
Sprinkle thin chocolate slices over it. Ready to serve.
