Eggless Zebra Cake(A Yummy Treat)


Everybody loves chocolate and vanilla cake, its tastes reminds of childhood. Zebra cake is fun and festive recipe; combines chocolate and vanilla batter to create zebra stripes satisfying everyone. This cake is the perfect one for small gathering or school picnic snacking. Zebra cake is one of our most requested recipes. This cake has beautiful black, white and orange pattern. In this recipe, I use melted butter instead of oil.I have also reduced the sugar.The batter is so creamy and delicious that you could just eat it as it is.You can serve this zebra cake with warm milk or coffee or can also make a chocolate glaze on the top.

INGREDIENTS

  • All purpose flour-1&1/2 cup
  • Condensed milk-200 g
  • powdered sugar-2 tablespoon
  • Milk-1 cup
  • Baking powder-1 teaspoon
  • Baking soda -1/2 teaspoon
  • Butter-100 gm
  • Vanilla essence-5-6 drops
  • Cocoa powder 2 tablespoon
  • Lemon-1/2 teaspoon
  • Warm coffee-1/3 cup(1/3tsp coffee in 1/3 cup hot water)
  • Red food color 5-6 drops


HOW TO MAKE EGG LESS ZEBRA CAKE

Take a 5-6 litre pressure cooker. Remove rubber ring and whistle. Keep the flame lowest and add 1 cup sea salt in the cooker.

Place a stand over  it.

Grease a cake tin very well with some butter. Place a butter paper over it . Keep aside .

Mix all the above mensioned ingredients except cocoa powder,warm coffee and red food color.

Mix all ingredients with mixer.

Mix all ingredients with mixer.

Divide this  mixture in three parts vanilla better and place in seperate bowls.

Add 2 tablespoon cocoa powder in one bowl.

Add chocolate essence in it.

Mix it with spatulla.

Add half warm coffee in it.

Mix  red food color in another bowl.

Pour one ladle of chocolate batter in the cake tin.

Use a small ladle of vanilla batter in the center of chocolate batter .

Now add orange color batter in the center.

Continue until you have used up all your batter.

Take a knife and draw 4 lines on the batter by moving the knife from the center to side,then draw another 4 lines now by moving the knife placed between the first line.

Place the cake tin inside the preheated cooker and now slow down the flame and cook on low flame around 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into center of cake comes out clean.

Cake is ready.

Let it cool and put it in a serving saucer.

Serve it with warm milk or hot coffee.
