Crispy Honey Chili Potato ( the Any-Time Snacks)



 Honey Chili potato is a new way of serving French fries with Chili and Honey. A good snack which can be made in just ten minutes. It can always be our backup snack when we are hanging out with friends/ watching a movie/ when hunger strikes/ studying late night. 

Ingredients:

  1. 2 medium size potatoes
  • For Coating

  1. 1/2 cup maida
  2. 1/2 cup corn flour
  3. 2 tbsp salt
  4. 1/2 tbsp black pepper
  5. 2 tbsp olive oil
  6. 1/2 cup water
  7. 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • For the Sauce

  1. 2 onions (sliced)
  2. 1/2 capsicum (sliced)
  3. 1 tsp ginger (chopped)
  4. 6-8 cloves of garlic (chopped)
  5. 3 tbsp honey
  6. 1 tbsp red chili sauce/ green chili sauce
  7. 2 tbsp soya sauce
  8. 1 tsp tomato ketchup
  9. 1/4 tsp black pepper
  10. 1/2 tsp sesame seeds
  11. 1/4 tsp salt (acc. to taste)
  12. 2 tsp green coriander
  13. 2tsp corn flour
  14. 1/4 cup water

How to make Crispy Honey Chili Potato:


Remove the skin of potato and cut them into 2 halves.

Cut thin slices of potato (like French fries) and boil them with a pinch of salt for 5-7 minutes on low flame.

Drain the fries and let them cool down.

 For Coating:

Take a bowl. Add maida, corn flour, salt, pepper, oil, water .

Add Ginger Garlic paste.


Marinate the potato in the mixture.

 For Honey Chili Sauce:

Heat oil in pan on high flame. Once it is hot, add ginger garlic paste and green chili.

Add onion and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Now add salt, black pepper and capsicum.


MEANWHILE, Fry the marinated potato slices (pour one by one so they don't stick) on medium flame for 5 minutes.



Fry them again on high flame for around 4 minutes (until they turn golden brown)

In a small bowl; add soya sauce. red/green chili sauce, honey, tomato ketchup, corn flour and 1/4 cup water.

Pour this honey chili sauce into the mixture we made earlier and stir well.
After 1 minute add fried potatoes and mix well. 
Garnish with sesame seeds and coriander.

Crispy and delicious Honey Chili Potato are ready to serve. Enjoy them as the "any-time snacks"!
